Gerardo Lozano Alarcón

After culminating a cycle of more than 35 years as a founding partner of the firm Gallástegui y Lozano, which would later associate with DLA Piper to form DLA Piper Gallástegui y Lozano, Gerardo Lozano Alarcón continues his private practice mainly related to national and international arbitration.

In this new phase of his career, Gerardo participates as arbitrator and party counsel in arbitrations related to a wide range of sectors; including: real estate, finance, telecommunications, energy, natural resources, infrastructure, insurance, maritime and corporate law. Likewise, Gerardo continues advising his clients in matters related to finance, financial restructuring, maritime law and insurance.

Gerardo has extensive experience in international arbitration acting as arbitrator and party counsel, in relation to disputes in a wide range of sectors; including energy, infrastructure, finance, insurance, maritime and corporate law, in ad hoc and administered arbitrations under the rules of: ICC, CANACO, CAM, ICDR, LCIA, UNCITRAL, SMA, CIADI and HKIAC. Gerardo has acted as arbitrator and as legal counsel in more than sixty arbitrations.

Gerardo has acted as legal counsel to Mexican and international banks, representing international and national creditors and other financial entities, in relation to various financial operations, including: loans and syndicated loans, acquisition financing, unsecured and secured financing, structured financing and project finance.
